The wind pressure of the Roots blower is not limited by the rotational speed of the blower. Regardless of how the rotational speed changes, the wind pressure can remain constant. The wind volume, on the other hand, is directly proportional to the rotational speed, that is, Q = KN.

Q: represents the wind volume N: represents the rotational speed of the blower K: is a coefficient.

From the formula, it can be seen that the adjustment of wind volume is achieved by the frequency converter changing the motor frequency to achieve stepless speed regulation, achieving the effect of adjusting the wind volume. According to the minimum frequency of the process fan in the field application, it is usually around 35Hz, and sometimes it operates at full wind volume at 50Hz. Since the kiln process is basically the same, the adjustment amount of the wind volume in different kilns is basically the same. Any kiln applying variable frequency technology can achieve about 40% energy-saving effect. 

The Roots blower is a constant torque load. Its energy-saving rate is proportional to the speed drop, that is, N% = △N%. Although it is different from the general fans and pumps, its energy-saving rate is higher. However, because its power is large and it works continuously for 24 hours with a long running time, the potential for energy saving is great and the energy-saving cost is high.

After the technical transformation of the Roots blower, the production mode of adjusting wind pressure or wind volume by regulating the opening degree of the outlet (inlet) valve in the past has been changed. The labor intensity has been reduced, the timeliness of adjustment is good, the product qualification rate has been improved, and the unit consumption has decreased significantly.

Energy saving

The safe operation and service life of the Roots blower depend on whether it is frequently and correctly maintained and serviced, and any accident precursors should be noted. If the three-blade Roots blower is not used for a long time, all power supplies on the machine body should be cut off and it should be placed in a ventilated and dry place. This can effectively avoid rust and other phenomena that may occur in the machine body during long-term non-use. In addition, during the use of the Roots blower, it is necessary to regularly apply oil to it. Only in this way can the flexibility of the three-blade Roots blower operation be maximally guaranteed.

In addition to this, the following points should also be noted:

1. Check the tightness of each part of the Roots blower and whether the locating pins are loose. If there is any looseness, it should be fixed promptly.

2. There should be no scale, rust or peeling phenomenon inside the blower body. Prevent any oil leakage phenomenon inside the machine body.

3. When disassembling the machine, measure the dimensions of each mating part, make records, and mark and indicate the direction of the components to ensure assembly and maintain the original mating requirements.

4. The overload of the Roots blower sometimes does not show immediately, so attention should be paid to the changes in inlet and outlet pressure, bearing temperature and motor current to determine whether the machine is operating normally.

5. Under normal conditions, the lubricating oil of the unit must be replaced after 1000 hours of operation. Pay attention to whether the cooling condition of the lubricating oil is normal, pay attention to the quality of the lubricating oil, often listen for any noise from the Roots blower operation, and check whether the unit is operating under non-compliant conditions.

6. For new machines or Roots blowers after major repairs, start them according to the usage steps. It is recommended to replace all lubricating oil after 8 hours of operation. Daily maintenance is very important. Small faults must be repaired before being put back into use.
